Winter really is upon us, and if you, like us, are hanging out in Norway these days you know that it is cooooooold. Here in Trondheim there’s a nasty rumor going around saying that it will reach -17 C this week. Brrrrr. So, in hoping to get some warmth, or at least some summery feelings if nothing else, I thought it fitting that this Vintage Wednesday we should look at the pattern we all know and love: oh yes, we’re talking flower power.
(for sale here)
Apparently, flower power was the slogan used by an American counterculture movement in the 1960s and 70s as a symbol of passive resistance and non-violence.

Then there was a tiny little group you may have heard of called the Hippies. They embraced symbolism, often dressing in flowery clothing with strong colors, and flowers in their hair. No wonder some called them Flower Children.

And then there are those of us who just think it’s pretty and fine and cool.
All the shops I’ve mention can be found on Etsy. Now, do you feel a little more summery?
