Yesterday one of my roomies bought me Vogue as a little pick-me-up. Inside said Vogue was (as expected) lots of wonderful fashion, and a statement that caught my eye. This statement said that the fashion world depend on Marc Jacobs and Miuccia Prada to lead them. And so it is only fitting that this week’s Designer Day is dedicated to Miuccia Prada.
Miuccia Prada (born 1949) is an Italian fashion designer who leads the fashion house of Prada and is head of the label Miu Miu. She is the youngest granddaughter of Mario Prada, the founder of Prada fashion house, but it was she and her husband, Patrizio Bertelli, who from 1978 have built Prada up to be the powerful and leading label that it is today.
Mythbusting: A lot of people seem to think that if you’re interested in clothes and fashion you’re not very smart. Well, did you know that Miuccia Prada actually has a Ph.D. in political science? She can’t be that stupid.
So far I’ve been showing you Prada clothes. Now for some Miu Miu.
For spring Miu Miu promises us lots of polka dots! I can’t wait.
